Stop Being A Fraud
Networking is all about building relationships.
Building relationships starts with having a conversation.
Having a conversation involves asking and answering questions.
If you connect with a person via LinkedIn to establish a professional relationship but you fail to engage in conversation or fail to respond to genuine questions that are meant to strengthen the connection then you are are a fraud.
Why are you a fraud?
Because the pretext for connecting with people on a professional networking platform does not match your true actions.
When building your network on LinkedIn….
If trust is an issue, disconnect;
If fear is an issue, take action;
If lack of communication skills is an issue, hire a coach;
If you’re too busy, know that busy people make time for things they deem important.
And if building relationships on LinkedIn is not important to you, then you should delete your LinkedIn profile because you cannot effectively network without building authentic relationships.
